GWEN have developed a very useful free phone application that enables women (and other people) who are being attacked to text help to their selection of their five closest friends just by the push of a button. The video above talks about using the app for people you may meet through online dating but I think that its a useful and possibly life saving app to have on your phone when just going about your daily business.

You Tube beauty make up star Lauren Luke has created a make up video explaining how victims of domestic violence hide what is happening to them. The video which is part of the #dontcoveritup campaign was created for Refuge, a UK-based charity fighting domestic abuse against women and children. 

1 in 4 women, including teenagers, experience domestic abuse, be it physical, emotional, psychological or financial. 65% of women hide evidence they’re experiencing domestic abuse.
